Barium sulfate is obtained from barite, a mineral rich in barium sulfate, which also contains clay minerals, organic matter and other substances. Pure crystal is colorless and transparent. It is usually gray-white due to impurities. Chemical properties are stable, insoluble in water and hydrochloric acid, non-magnetic and toxic. Barite deep-processing products can be used to expand the scope of application, taking advantage of barite's moderate hardness and high temperature resistance.

Precipitated barium sulfate has been widely used in friction sealing materials and has become an indispensable inorganic filler in friction materials. The precipitated barium sulfate can stabilize the friction coefficient and reduce the wear rate, and the friction surface is smooth and clean.

Precipitated barium sulfate calcines barite and pulverized coal together in a reduction furnace, and then removes impurities, immerses and pulps the calcined products. Pump the slurry into the reaction tank, add mirabilite, heat it with steam and stir it to accelerate the formation.
